Till Death Do Us Part - Kiwi & Steve's Wedding

As weddings could go, as a first time wedding photographer, I couldn't have asked for a better couple to photograph. Kiwi and Steve have been such troopers throughout this whole process and they couldn't have been a better couple to have worked with. They are each other's opposites (where I could see), Kiwi being more outspoken and talkative and Steve more laid back with a quiet strength - which are great complements to each other. The day of their wedding was a scorcher for the summer - we'd just gone through a luke warm spell and at 92 degrees it was hot! But everyone in the bridal party were so upbeat and enthusiastic about standing in the sun. The wedding itself was very nice and definitely held a lot of personal touches that Steve and Kiwi came up with. The reception was a blast with a lot of cultural influence that I had a blast being a part of, like La Marcha (I really hope I'm spelling things right).

Thank you Kiwi and Steve for letting me be a part of this experience and I wish you only the best for your future together!

This was hard for me to let them do, I was so afraid that we'd mess up the outfits, but it was a blast!

Kiwi had this amazing smile on her face the entire night! You're beautiful Kiwi!

Things Lost and Things Found

So I figured I needed to update everyone on my life, it's been awhile my last actual update, where I'm not giving you photos. Didn't feel right to talk about me and my life when I'm posting some else's photos.
Really a lot has happened since school ended, and, really, even before school ended a lot of stuff happened. Dave and I started dating, I finished up my year as a middle school teacher, I found a new job, summer started - where do I start to tell you about my life?
Since those of you that know me basically know Dave and my story I suppose I will start with my new job. I knew I needed to move on from St. Marguerite's, not that it wasn't a great school, and not that I don't love every single person there, but I needed to do what was best for me, and that meant moving on. I applied for jobs within the Tooele County School District, went to a couple interviews, and then was offered the position of 5th grade teacher at Overlake Elementary. This is an exciting new chapter for me, one that, while I'm nervous, I think will be excellent for me in the long run. I'm excited to work with other teachers and not always have to be the pioneer for what I do each year.
Summer has started and while there's a lot of stuff that I need to do for next year, I still have a ton of free time on my hands :) it's probably not the best of things lol. Recently we found out that we will not be attending World Youth Day in Brazil, this caused a lot of cancellations on our part, most specifically a trip to Los Angeles. My mom and I were still in a travel mood and decided we needed a trip up to my grandparents house and Afton, Wyoming. And that brings us to yesterday. We went on a four wheeling trip that was definitely an adventure full of things lost and things found.
A Short List of Lost and Found
1. Lost: the small town bussel
Found: the beauty of the mountains
2. Lost: a food source
Found: wild onions that we swear are a mix between garlic and onion
3. Lost: my phone
Found: my phone (not where I thought I'd lost it)
4. Lost: wild creatures
    Found: silly cows
5. Lost: my balance
Found: I can't keep it anyway, tipped the four wheeler - uninjured luckily
6. Lost: my appetite
    Found: bag worms....enough said
7. Lost: our minds
Found: a power box that's been shot, really?
Needless to say there was a lot of things we really enjoyed doing yesterday, definitely missed this town. Here's a few more pics to add to those already :) keep checking back for more wedding photos!
