Color Festival & Spring Break

For probably a good 4 years now, around this time (and in the fall) I would see pictures pop up of my friends covered head-to-toe in color and I wondered what on earth it was that they were doing. Well I found out last fall that it is a color festival that happens twice a year (someone could correct me if I am wrong). It's an Indian tradition and takes place at the Hindu Temple in Spanish Fork. This year my friend Emily and I decided we were going come hell or high water as we'd tried to go in the fall but got rained out.

I'm not gonna lie, I was a little disappointed at the lack of things to do (but this may have been because we were there on Sunday) but overall I had a blast! We met up with some friends for a bit and then found a really good spot on the second level of the temple to listen to music and subsequently watch the color toss at 2.

Some things we decided for next year:
  • Bandannas possibly (I had waaay too much color thrown in my mouth)
  • Tank tops instead of t-shirts
  • Put covers on the car seats before the festival (to avoid getting color everywhere after)
  • Wear sunscreen (didn't think I'd burn through the color)
  • Not put blond streaks in my hair a couple weeks before - my streaks are now pink instead of blond
Here are a few pictures from the festival!
Before the festival - nice a white!

This is as cool a picture as it is annoying, Some person just threw color at us right as the lady took the picture - think I spit out tons of yellow :/

Everyone was putting hand prints on the temple. Emily's is on the right, mine the left, except that my first attempt failed.

Right before a color throw.

Pretty colors!

Felt like I was rainbow colored - still can't get it out of my hair and I think I might have some pink still on my nose.
I've also been working on photos for the baby shoot I did a couple weeks ago - I finally got them finished and added in some collages that I kinda love! I'll put one up for you :)

Spring break is really just kinda starting and I'm so ridiculously bored already. I've wanted to go outside and start working on a tan (as superficial as that sounds) but of course for the past 2 days it's been doing nothing but raining and rather than be the 68-70 degree weather it was over the weekend it's dropped back into the 50s. I'm hoping to at least get out and do SOMETHING during the break - it's yet to be seen.

Any ideas?

Here's a collage (suppose it's only the one picture but I love the little details) I put together :) hope you like it.
