A Long Overdue Reunion: Baby A

This blog is long overdue, but that's not why the title is why it is. A long list of things have stood between my family and I in the past decade (which, in and of itself, sounds ridiculous!). And then one day we got an invite to a baby shower for my cousin Shannon. I won't lie, I think we were all a little thrown and not sure if we should attend, but throwing our hesitation to the wind, and in the hopes that some of those misunderstood reasons for not interacting for over 10 years, we decided to attend.

It was a wonderful decision.

It was a chance to reconnect and it felt like things had never not been ok or whole. At that time, Shannon had a ways to go till her due date. For better or worse, cute, adorable, Baby A was born a little early, and Shannon graciously asked if I could take some pictures for her. Baby A was only 12 days old and he was sooo tiny and cute! It was a very different type of photography for me, being known as lifestyle photography. Being a natural light photographer (meaning my work is done mostly outside, with natural light of course), I was actually quite nervous, but I'm sure that Shannon and Scott couldn't have known that their house had the most wonderful natural light I could've asked for (and that was with the blinds closed). Baby A was such a good sport, being changed as many times as he was, and yet it wasn't until we got a little gutsy that he opened his beautiful eyes!

Hopefully we'll get many more pictures in the future! Without more commentary here we go with sweet Baby A (although I will say, I am pretty pleased with my new watermark ;))!

I love these little monsters that are in his crib, adorable!

Buster was always so attentive, every time Baby A would get fussy he was right there.

Shannon, you're beautiful!

Look at that hair!

This is so precious!

Maybe we'll open our eyes?
