Seniors :: The Adventurous Stephany

I had a blast with this session! From the moment we sat down in our consultation to the time we finished this session, Stephany was a girl on a mission! She knew exactly what she was looking for and threw down a huge challenge! She wanted pictures done in an area that I had heard mentioned a million times, but never actually had I gone to. My husband and I took a day trip to the location and sadly it wasn't opened - there was still snow! As we were coming back down the canyon we noticed this amazing pipe/bridge thing. Needless to say we found this amazing location! I immediately messaged Stephany and she was totally on board. The photos we got were so beautiful and turned out just how I imagined them to!

Stephany has been friends with another friend of mine for like ever. That's how she heard of me :) (thanks Mel). She is a very sweet girl with a determination I haven't seen on anyone in a while! She knows exactly what she wants out of  life and seems rather content with what she has going. Stephany plays tuba in the High School band and has been on the swim team. She is going to go to Salt Lake Community College in the fall to work on her Associates and eventually she will transfer up to Weber State University to major in Nursing. When I asked her what area of nursing, she wasn't sure, but was positive it was the area she wanted to be in. She works hard at her job at one of our local nursing homes and loves the residents she works with. She has a kind heart and a carefree nature. I know with her determination she will achieve all she wants to in the future!

We had a good time with this shot, joking around and all!

I know all my clients will have their favorite photos, as will I. This is one of them!

This area was sooo peaceful and scenic!

If only you knew the conversation that got this laugh!

Good luck Stephany, you are going to be amazing!

Seniors :: The Carefree Sayley

I was so excited to meet Sayley. I was actually under the impression that she had been sent my way by some of the other seniors I have done photos for lately, but shockingly she was directed my way due to some amazing clients/friends who gave up my name in a community post on Facebook where someone was looking for a photographer. Whoever shared my name, I can't thank you enough! Not only have you been awesome, but without you sharing, I would never have gotten to meet the hilarious, carefree spirit that is Sayley!

Sayley had had some ideas in mind about what she wanted and I am so glad that we were able to incorporate some of them (I soo wish I could've found my suitcase!). She especially wanted a photo with our town's famous "T" which I knew would be tricky because you can't really get close to it unless you hike up to it, but knew I needed to make sure we had at least one photo with it!

Sayley described herself as a girl with an "I-do-what-I-want" attitude. I LOVE IT! She was up for anything and so relaxed about it all. While we were talking I found out she has played softball her whole life and that it's a big part of her life. She is attending the College of Eastern Utah in the fall. She seems so excited to be moving on to this next part of her life, even if she isn't quite sure what she wants to do yet! I know, though, that whatever she sets her mind to, she will achieve - she is such a free, independent, strong-willed girl and wish her all the best! Thank you for finding me :) I enjoyed talking about everything from country music to Vampire Diaries!

Sayley has such a natural, beautiful smile!

I LOVE this photo! I have a few of these and thought this summed up our fun conversations so well!

This tire swing? Awesome. That's all.

I love her eyes!

Good luck Miss Sayley! I know you'll go far, just keep it up!

Seniors :: The Beautifully, Talented Julia

With this session, I had sooo much fun! I have really started to enjoy working with seniors. They're all so excited about the future and have so many plans and are just adorable. Julia was no different!

I wasn't as nervous for this shoot as I was Gio's, but there will always be that sort of uncertainty that comes with taking and creating memories for someone. I always get nervous that I won't get what they picture!

She has this poise and grace that make her seem much more mature. She was hard to crack and actually get that real smile, but when we did it was brilliant! Julia has been a part of the high school band all through her years there and does not only marching band, but also did jazz band her junior year and is a drum major; she plays clarinet and bass clarinet. She is very involved with school activities because of this and we had the fun idea that we should take some photos at the high school! It was different and a lot of fun. Apparently she helped paint the steps and we got a few of her hand print :)

I was able to talk to her while we shot photos and found out she's going to go to Utah Valley University this fall to study Forensic Science. She is very grounded and had a very easy, going nature. I know that she will achieve anything she sets her mind to and am happy to present her photos!

Her eyes are absolutely stunning!

I'm going to get a reputation for making people climb things!

There is just something so serene about this photo, I love it!

There's one of those rare real smiles :)

Julia's mom Becky found this awesome train car as we were headed away from our first location, it was amazing!

Good luck Julia! You'll do great :)
